Privacy Policy
This is the fine print, written so you can actually read it. The Headmaster and Me LLC runs this site out of Tehachapi, CA. If anything here is unclear, email hello@theheadmasterandme.com and ask.
The short version
We collect what we need to teach your kids and take your payment, and nothing else. We don't track you, we don't advertise to you, and we never sell your information or your child's.
What we collect
When you use the contact form: your name, your email, and whatever you write in the message. It's emailed to Mike and nowhere else.
When you register for a workshop: your name, email, and phone number, and the first and last name of each student you're registering.
The student's name is all we ask about your child. We don't collect birthdays, medical or allergy information, emergency contacts, photos, or anything else about them. If a workshop needs something like that, Mike asks you directly and it stays out of this website.
When you pay: your card details go straight to Stripe and never touch our systems. We can see that a payment succeeded, the amount, and the last four digits. We never see or store your full card number.
Automatically: our host (Cloudflare) keeps standard server logs. It also counts visits to each page, with the website that sent you here, your country, and your type of device. The count uses no cookies and doesn't keep your IP address, so it can't tell us who you are. The forms use Cloudflare Turnstile to block bots, which checks your browser rather than your identity.
What we don't do
- No tracking. No Google Analytics and no advertising pixels. We can see how many times each page was read, but not who read it.
- No accounts. There's nothing to sign up for and no password to lose.
- No selling or renting your data. Not to anyone, ever, for any amount of money.
- No marketing email you didn't ask for.
Cookies
Your shopping cart is stored in your own browser so it survives if you click around. It never leaves your device until you check out. Cloudflare may set a cookie for security and bot protection. That's it.
Who we share it with
Only the services required to actually run this, and only what each one needs:
- Stripe — processes your payment.
- Resend — delivers our email.
- Cloudflare — hosts the site, counts page visits, and blocks bots.
We don't share your information with anyone else, and nobody gets it for marketing.
How long we keep it
Orders and registrations are kept as long as we need them for our records, our books, and tax law. Contact-form emails live in Mike's inbox like any other email. Ask us to delete something and we will, unless we're legally required to keep it.
Your California rights
California residents can ask what personal information we hold, ask for a copy, and ask us to delete it, under the CCPA and CPRA. We don't sell personal information, so there's nothing to opt out of. Emailhello@theheadmasterandme.com and we'll take care of it.
Text messages
If you check the box at checkout asking us to text you, we'll send you the things that are easy to miss: a workshop starting, a sign-up window closing. That's all we use your number for.
It's Mike texting you from his own phone, the same as if you'd texted him first. Your number isn't loaded into a texting company's system, because we don't use one.
Tell him to stop and he'll stop — reply to the text, say so at a workshop, or email hello@theheadmasterandme.com. There's no keyword to remember. Leaving the box unchecked means we'll only ever email you, and your child's spot in a workshop never depends on it either way.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version goes up on this page.
